Kolkata, July 29 (Reporter) Metro Ride Kolkata app has touched another milestone with its increasing popularity as over 5.41 lakh android and more than 11000 iOS users have downloaded this app so far, according to Metro Railway, Kolkata, on Monday. This app developed by Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS) has been a hit among the users since its inception. This app has enabled Metro commuters to recharge their Smart Cards or book QR Code Based tickets anytime from anywhere. For the benefit of the commuters, ‘Metro Ride Kolkata’ App was launched o­n March 5,2022 o­n Android platform and o­n March 22, 2024 o­n the iOS platform. Till July 27 last over 5.41 lakh Android users have downloaded this App from Google Play Store and more than 11000 iOS users have also downloaded this app from Apple Store. These figures signify the acceptability and popularity of this App among the Metro users. In order to make more commuters aware about it, special promotional films o­n how to download and use this App are being shown o­n platform televisions of North-South and East-West Metro stations.
