Bengaluru, Sep 23 (Reporter) Karnataka Home Minister Dr G Parameshwara on Monday pledged swift justice for the family of Mahalakhmi, a 29-year-old woman whose dismembered body was discovered in a refrigerator at a rented house in Vinayakanagar area.
Authorities have identified a prime suspect in the case, reportedly from West Bengal, who is currently evading capture.
Dr Parameshwara assured reporters that law enforcement is working diligently to locate the suspect. "The police have gathered substantial information and vital clues related to this case," he said here on Monday.
Police Commissioner B Dayananda stated that investigators are pursuing all leads. "We have identified the prime suspect, and efforts are underway to apprehend him. While he is an outsider, we cannot disclose further details at this time to avoid compromising the investigation," he said.
Mahalakhmi, who was employed at Mantri Mall on Sampige Road, is believed to have been murdered several days before her body was found on Saturday.
Highlighting the government's commitment to women's safety, Dr Parameshwara emphasised ongoing efforts to prevent such crimes. "We have implemented several precautionary measures and remain vigilant.
