Mizoram CM to present state budget on March 4

Aizawl, Jan 30 (Reporter) Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma will present the state’s annual budget for the 2025-2026 fiscal year in the legislative assembly on March 4. This will be his second budget presentation since the Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM) assumed power in December 2023. The budget session is scheduled to commence on February 19 following a summons by Governor Gen. Vijay Kumar Singh. The session’s detailed agenda was finalised at a Business Advisory Committee (BAC) meeting chaired by Assembly Speaker Lalbiakzama and attended by representatives from all legislative parties on Wednesday. Governor Singh will deliver his customary address on the first day of the session. Initially planned to run until March 20, the session’s duration may be adjusted by the BAC as needed, according to officials from the assembly secretariat. The government is expected to introduce multiple official bills during the session, with one new bill already submitted. Mizoram’s budget for the 2024-2025 fiscal year stood at Rs 14,276.62 crore, as presented by Lalduhoma on February 27 last year.
