Mumbai, Apr 8 (Reporter) Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president Nana Patole on Monday took a swipe at BJP and the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government at the Centre, claiming that there was development of only one family that of industrialist Gautum Adani during its 10-year rule. While addressing an election rally at Chandrapur in support of Congress nominee Anjali Dhanorkar, he said that the allegation that the Congress has only helped one family is baseless and by now the public knows that Modi has helped only the Adani family in last 10 years, he alleged. Speaking further, he said that BJP and PM Modi seem to have lost sleep since the Congress party released its manifesto, 'Nyay Patra', pledging to give justice to common people. He scoffed at Modi's comments that the Congress manifesto bears the stamp of Muslim League is ridiculous and said that it is amply clear that he has no idea of the country's history. When the entire country took to the streets in support of the Quit India Movement of 1942, Jana Sangh founder Shyama Prasad Mukherjee was running the government in Bengal, Sindh and the North-West Frontier Province with the help of the Muslim League and was trying to suppress the movement, the Congress leader claimed. PM Modi must be constantly remembering this old relationship with the Muslim League, he noted. Patole said that Modi cannot run away from corruption committed by his government by accusing the Congress party and INDIA bloc of being corrupt. "What right does Modi have to speak about corruption, who gave people accused of corruption respectful posts," he asked. "Why does not Modi speak about how electoral bonds worth crores of rupees were amassed by blackmailing corporates in exchange of giving huge contracts to companies," he demanded...////...
