Mumbai, Feb 21 (Reporter) Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president Nana Patole on Wednesday attacked the Mahayuti (grand coalition) government in the state, alleging it is working to destroy the youths of the state by poisoning religion with opium and drugs.
Talking to reporters at the party head office here, he said that the business of narcotics is going on in the state and expressed serious concern over seizure of drugs worth Rs 4,000 crore in last three days in Pune.
Claiming that thousands of tonnes of drugs are being trafficked from Mundra port in Gujarat, the MPCC chief hinted that the relationship between the owner of Mundra port and BJP's 'Aaka' is well known.
Earlier, large stocks of narcotics were also found in Nashik, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Amravati and Solapur, he said.
Despite police action, the drug mafia is at large, he charged.
Stating that the law and order in the state has become a problem, Patole cited an example of a senior minister of the state who acknowledged in the assembly that he has been receiving threats shows the state of law and order in Maharashtra.
