Mumbai, Apr 10 (Reporter) Since announcement of the Lok Sabha elections, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has redressed 14,368 complaints out of 14,753 filed by voters in Maharashtra on its website, putting the state at third place in redressal of voter grievances in the country.
An official press release issued on Wednesday by EC stated that Nagaland with only 18 complaints ranked first, followed by Gujarat (7,124).
In Maharashtra, the highest number of complaints came from Pune district 2,818, followed by Mumbai Suburbs (2,331) and Thane (2,183). The least number of 34 complaints were received from the Hingoli district.
Of 14,368 redressed complaints, the highest number of 4,556 complaints were from people who did not receive voter ID cards, 1,848 complaints were regarding delay in correction of voter ID card, 1,047 were about e-Voter ID card, 521 were about rejection of applications for obtaining new ID cards and 500 others were about names not being found in the voter list, the release stated...////...
