Hyderabad, Sep 13 (Reporter) The Telangana Cyber Security Bureau (TGCSB), Hyderabad, has arrested a woman from Mumbai for her role in sending victims to Cambodia to engage in cybercriminal activities. Based on credible information, TGCSB arrested Priyanka Shiv Kumar Siddu (30), a recruiting agent from Chembur, Mumbai, for her involvement in this offense, according to a police statement released on Friday. Priyanka previously worked for a licensed overseas job processing agency named Maxwell, which later shut down due to health issues of its managing director. After gaining experience there, she began her own recruitment agency, despite lacking the necessary legal authorization. She deceived job seekers by offering visit visas with false promises that they would be converted into job visas later. Priyanka established a connection with Narayana, another agent in Mumbai, who operated a similar illegal agency. Narayana traveled to Cambodia and informed Priyanka about lucrative data entry job opportunities there, introducing her to Jithender Shah, alias Amer Khan, the director of a Chinese-owned company named Zhan Zei. After visiting Cambodia herself to verify the details, Priyanka was offered $500 in commission for each candidate she recruited. Upon returning to India, Priyanka processed visas for her nephew Akshay Vaidhya and his friend Danish Khan, the first two victims she sent to Cambodia. Once they arrived, they were subjected to a 12-hour road journey, after which Jithender Shah, alias Amer Khan, revealed their true job: engaging in cybercrime. Priyanka advertised these fraudulent jobs extensively through newspapers and social media, attracting individuals such as Vamsi Krishna and Sai Prasad from Hyderabad. She charged Rs 30,000 as commission per candidate, processed their visas, and sent them to Cambodia. Once there, the victims faced severe physical and mental abuse when they refused to participate in cybercriminal activities. Both Vamsi Krishna and Sai Prasad eventually returned to India after enduring extreme hardship. The investigation into Priyanka's involvement in trafficking more victims for cybercrime operations is ongoing. The modus operandi was that the agents in India lure job seekers by offering high-paying overseas jobs and collecting money under the guise of processing fees, registration, and visa charges. The victims are then sent to Cambodia, where they are handed over to Chinese handlers. Upon arrival, they are forced to commit cyber crimes under threats of violence and confinement. Those who resist are subjected to physical abuse and psychological torture. The handlers also extort additional money from the victims, threatening them with death and demanding payment in Bitcoins...////...
