Chennai, July 20 (Reporter) DMK Youth Wing Leader and Tamil Nadu Minister for Sports Development and Youth Welfare , Udhayanidhi Stalin on Saturday termed as 'mere rumours', reports of his possible elevation as the Deputy Chief Minister. Mr Udhayanidhi, who is the son of Chief Minister and DMK President M K Stalin, said the post of Youth Wing Secretary was very close to his heart and would always remain so and termed that media reports of his elevation as Deputy CM were rumours and gossip. Addressing youth wing functionaries at its headquarters ‘Anbagam’ in the city to mark the commemoration of the 45th year of the DMK youth wing and his fifth year as its Secretary, he said "irrespective of posts given to me, the post of Youth Wing Secretary will be closest to my heart". It may be recalled that soon after he was inducted into the Cabinet, talk of his possible elevation as Deputy CM surfaced and Mr Udhayanidhi stoutly denied it saying all Ministers are Deputy Chief Ministers and extended their whole-hearted support to the Chief Minister. The rumours surfaced yet again during the last few days and a couple of Ministers also openly proposed his name for the Deputy CM post and it gained credence. However, Mr Udhayanidhi, who is also the grandson of DMK Patriarch and late CM M Karunanidhi, once again denied it as rumours and gossip...////...
