Bhubaneswar, Feb 17 (Reporter) Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday laid the foundation stone of Textile complex at Choudwar to be set up by world famous Welspun group at a cost of Rs.3050 crore. The Wellspun group will establish an integrated textile manufacturing facility and a warehouse complex at Choudwar to provide employment opportunities for nearly 10,000 youths. Speaking on the occasion, Patnaik said it was a historic day for Choudwar which got its glory back in the field of industry as Biju Babu had laid the foundation of industrialization in 1950s. He said the Textile complex will help in the development of small and medium industries in the region and benefit the cotton growers in Kalahandi, Balangir, Rayagada and Gajapati districts. The Chief Minister thanked Welspun group Chairman B K Goenka for making investment in Odisha.The company ,he said had submitted the proposal to establish Textile manufacturing facility during the Make in Odisha Conclave in 2022. Speaking on the occasion, Goenka said Odisha is attracting major investment proposals in the country.
