Mumbai, Oct 13 (Reporter) NCP (SP) president Sharad Pawar on Sunday called for freeing Maharashtra from the clutches of the ruling Mahayuti government, while accusing it of having destroyed the administrative system. Addressing a joint press conference of MVA here, he noted that the Mahayuti government has made hasty decisions, but how many of these decisions will actually be implemented, he wondered. Talking about the administrative system, the NCP supremo said that Maharashtra’s administration was highly respected in the country but during the tenure of the Mahayuti government, this administrative system has been dismantled, he alleged. Because of which, Maharashtra is paying a high price, he pointed. "We must save Maharashtra from those who are destroying the administrative system, and the MVA is making efforts to do so, Pawar added. Former chief minister and Shiv Sena (UBT) president Uddhav Thackeray said, "What were the authorities doing until the murder of former minister and NCP leader Baba Siddique?" During Devendra Fadnavis' government, Congress leader Nana Patole's phone was being tapped, they kept a close watch on the opposition, but why not on criminals, he asked. He alleged that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) are being used only for the opposition. "If murders are happening in the capital of Maharashtra, if atrocities against women are happening, where is the law in the state?" he questioned. When young Abhishek Ghosalkar was murdered, the Sena chief recalled what Fadnavis had said, "Even if a dog comes under the car, the opposition will demand the Home Minister’s resignation." "This government thinks of people as dogs," he said. Accusing the Mahayuti of having turned Maharashtra into a colony of Gujarat, Thackeray asserted that MVA will not allow Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister Amit Shah to take over the state of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj, Jyotiba Phule and Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar. "This government must be defeated in upcoming assembly election," he added...////...
