NCP to shift focus on Maha Assembly constituencies: chief

Mumbai, May 25 (Reporter) Maharashtra NCP (AP) president, Sunil Tatkare, said on Saturday that the party has organised an important meeting on May 27 to discuss ways to strengthen the party organisation and make it more robust across the state before assembly elections due to be held in later half of the year. Therefore, without waiting for results of the Lok Sabha elections on June four, NCP has begun taking steps to strengthen the organisation and make it more robust across the state by conducting district-wise reviews, he informed. Tatkare also said that June 10 being foundation day of the party, the core committee will hold a discussion on the preparations and planning of programmes in Mumbai and Delhi. On this day, many leaders from Maharashtra and outside the state will publicly join NCP, which will change political equations not only in the state but also across the country, he noted. Keeping in mind the state elections and to take steps for further planning, NCP will be more proactive and work from the village level to the state level, he informed. "NCP will be strengthened at the state and the national level after joining of the leaders on Monday. They will have a big impact on forthcoming elections as well," said Tatkare.
