Patna, July 18 (Reporter) Bihar Bharatiya Janata Party President and Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary on Thursday expressed confidence that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) would return to power with a bigger majority in the coming Assembly elections.
He hit out at the Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad Yadav for butchering democracy and paving the way for imposition of the president's rule in the state two decades ago.
Addressing the state working committee meeting of the party here, Chaudhary alleged that it was Lalu Prasad Yadav who got president's rule imposed in Bihar during his tenure as railway minister.
Highlighting the performance of the NDA in the recent Lok Sabha elections, Chaudhary appealed to party workers to work hard for emerging as a strong force in the 2025 Assembly elections for electing a new 243-member House.
He claimed that in the next Assembly elections in Bihar the NDA would break its record of 2010 Assembly Elections.
Outlining the achievements of the NDA government, the Deputy Chief Minister said that it would continue its welfare schemes under which 13 lakh people would be given pucca houses.
Chaudhary said in addition to the Rs 2 lakh crore financial assistance, the Narendra Modi government has given assistance of over Rs 3 lakh crore to farmers.
