Chennai, Oct 15 (Reporter) The Met office announced that Northeast Monsoon has set in over Tamil Nadu and other southern states on Tuesday. In a message, the Regional Meteorological Centre said Southwest monsoon has withdrawn from the entire country today, October 15, 2024. Simultaneously, the Northeast monsoon rainfall activity has commenced over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, South Interior Karnataka and Kerala today. The NE Monsoon commenced with a Well Marked Low Pressure Area over central part of south Bay of Bengal, easterly and northeasterly winds set-in over southern peninsular India, south and adjoining central Bay of Bengal and extends up to middle tropospheric levels. As the monsoon has set in, fairly widespread to widespread rainfall occurred over Tamil Nadu–Puducherry, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, South Interior Karnataka and Kerala with heavy to very heavy rain at isolated places...////...
