Neha murder case: Priyank Kharge accuses BJP of dividing society

Kalaburagi, April 22 (Reporter) Karnataka RDPR Minister Priyank Kharge has accused the BJP of attempting to divide society over the tragic Hubballi murder case, emphasising the state government's commitment to ensuring justice. "The BJP is trying to divide society over this issue, but we are committed to ensuring justice," Kharge stated, underscoring the government's unwavering dedication to upholding the rule of law and delivering justice to the victim's family. Furthermore, he slammed the BJP for allegedly politicising the incident for electoral gains. "If this incident had occurred in a BJP-ruled state, would the rules have changed? We stand firmly with the victim's family and are doing everything possible to deliver justice," he added. The Minister also raised questions about BJP's selective approach in visiting victims' families, following BJP President JP Nadda's recent visit to the family of the victim in the Hubballi murder case. "JP Nadda visited the victim’s family, which is commendable. But when is he going to visit the other victim’s family? Recently, in Bengaluru, there were gruesome double murders in JP Nagar and there is also one POCSO case against a very senior BJP leader. Why doesn’t he speak about that also?" Kharge questioned. In response to Neha Hiremath murder in Hubballi, the BJP and several Muslim organisations have called for a statewide bandh today, demanding a CBI probe into the murder. The BJP has alleged that the police are attempting to divert the case. Niranjan Hiremath, Neha's father, echoed the BJP's demand for a CBI investigation and slammed the police commissioner for alleged negligence. "The police have been negligent, and we demand a thorough investigation by the CBI," Hiremath said. Neha's murder by her former classmate Fayaz has led to protests across the state. The BJP has termed the incident as a case of 'love jihad', a term used to describe inter-religious relationships allegedly part of a conspiracy to convert individuals.
