New intl airport to come up in Hosur : Stalin

Chennai, June 27 (Reporter) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin on Thursday announced in the State Assembly that a new international airport would come up at Hosur, which has been attracting a lot of investments over the years in the electronic goods and EV manufacturing sectors. Making a Statement Under Rule 110 in the Assembly, he said the airport would come up in a 2,000 acre area and would have a capacity to handle 30 million passengers per year. He said the government has been implementing several schemes to improve the infrastructure in Hosur. A masterplan for development of Hosur to make it a major economic hub was being prepared and it would be completed soon. He said the airport would also improve the socio-economic status of Krishnagiri and Dharmapuri districts Mr Stalin also announced that a state-of-the-art Kalaignar Centenary library and technology centre (named after late Chief Minister and DMK Patriarch M Karunanidhi) would be built in Tiruchy, on the lines of the Anna Centenary Library in Chennai and the Kalaignar Centenary Library in Madurai. He also said construction of a similar library in Coimbatore would start later this year...////...
