Mumbai, May 24 (Reporter) The Election Commission of India(ECI) has announced the election schedule for the Maharashtra Legislative Council Teachers and Graduate Constituencies on Friday. It May noted that ECI had earlier announced election program on May 8 to hold election in four council constituencies on June 10 but due to objection by teachers' organisations in the backdrop of holiday it was deferred by the commission. Now Election Commission on Friday issued fresh program to hold election to four seats namely Mumbai Graduate, Konkan Division Graduate, Nashik Division Teacher and Mumbai Teacher Constituency. Vilas Vinayak Potnis (Mumbai Graduate Constituency), Niranjan Vasant Dawkhare (Kokan Graduate Constituency) Kishore Bhikaji Darade (Nashik Division Teachers Constituency) and Kapil Harishchandra Patil (Mumbai Teachers Constituency) are retiring from the Maharashtra Legislative Council on 7 July 2024. As per new schedule, notification for this election will be issued on May 31. Candidates can file applications for this election till June 7 , 2024. Scrutiny of the applications submitted by the candidates will be done on June 10, while the deadline for withdrawal of candidature is June 12.
