Patna, Apr 17 (Reporter) Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary on Thursday said the new Waqf Board Act would help in ameliorating the conditions of Pasmanda Muslims. Chaudhary, while addressing a function organised by Pasmanda Muslims here, said that they were the most backwards and deprived among the Muslim community in the country. It was felt that the Waqf Board was not discharging its duties for the purpose, as it was constituted long back, and rampant corruption was also visible in its functioning, he added. BJP leader said that it was extreme happiness for him that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had displayed courage to change the Waqf Board Act by bringing an amendment in parliament. Now, after approval from the parliament and assent given by the President, a new Waqf Board Act had come into existence, he pointed out. Chaudhary said that transparency would be ensured in the functioning of the Waqf Board after the implementation of the new Act.
