Hamilton, Jan 15 (Reporter) New Zealand captain Kane Williamson was forced to retire hurt in the second T20I against Pakistan. Williamson suffered a hamstring injury while batting in the second match of the series in Hamilton on Sunday. The player didn't take any further part in the game. While the New Zealand veteran was already set to miss the third T20I of the series as a part of a rehabilitation program for his long-standing right knee troubles, the player looks set to miss the remaining two games as well, an ICC report said. Black Caps coach Gary Stead believed that with the upcoming South Africa Test series around the corner, it was likely that Williamson would be rested. "With the Test matches so close as well, which probably in the big scheme of things, in the short term for us, has a higher priority, I think it's likely we'll try and make sure that he is right for that," he said. Williamson scored a 26 not out off 15 before retiring hurt. Despite an injury to their skipper in the second T20I, the Kiwis dominated the proceedings at Seddon Park and won the encounter by 21 runs. Josh Clarkson, Williamson's original replacement for the third T20I, was himself injured in a domestic game. Now opener Will Young has been added to the New Zealand squad for the third game...////...
