Bengaluru, Apr 5 (Reporter) The National Investigation Agency (NIA) issued a clarification on Friday regarding its investigation into the Rameshwaram Cafe blast case in Bengaluru. The NIA emphasized that it has been summoning acquaintances of the accused to gather information and evidence for the case. The agency pointed out that unverified news items could hinder the effectiveness of the investigation. This clarification from the NIA follows speculations made by Karnataka Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao regarding the involvement of BJP leader Saivara Prasad in the case after he was detained by the NIA. Additionally, Congress MLA Gopal Krishna Belur called for strict action against the perpetrators irrespective of their religious or political affiliations. Congress also demanded answers from BJP leaders, particularly questioning former home minister Jnanendra Araga's awareness of the situation in his constituency, Thirthahalli, where links to the blast case have been found. "It has been learned that Thirthahalli BJP leader Saiprasad has close links with the suspect. The @BJP4Karnataka now it’s time to answer the people of the state. "Earlier cooker bomb blast training had come to light in Thirthahalli, now in Rameswaram Café blast case links have been found in Thirthahalli. What is going on in Thirthahalli, former home minister @JnanendraAraga’s constituency? "Is the former home minister not aware of the happenings in his constituency? Or is everything happening in his notice? BJP should answer," Congress demanded on X. Amidst speculations, the NIA reiterated its focus on gathering evidence and information by questioning acquaintances of the accused. The agency stressed the importance of cooperation from all parties involved in the investigation to ensure the arrest of absconding accused persons. "NIA to gather evidence and information in the case has been summoning and examining all of the acquaintances including college and school time friends of the absconding and arrested accused persons. "Also, unverified news items hamper effective investigations in the case. NIA requests the cooperation of all in the arrest of absconding accused persons," NIA said in a statement posted on X. Earlier, the NIA summoned Prasad, a BJP worker from Thirthahalli in Shivamogga, regarding the blast that occurred on March 1. The NIA has identified Mussavir Hussain Shazib as the main accused and Abdul Mateen Taahaa as a co-conspirator. Both are residents of Thirthahalli in Shivamogga and are currently on the run. Muzammil Shareef was arrested on 26 March for allegedly providing logistics support to the main accused.
