Nitish congratulates Om Birla on being reelected LS Speaker

Patna, June 26 (Reporter) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar congratulated Om Birla after he was elected as Speaker of Lok Sabha for second consecutive term on Wednesday. Kumar in his message, expected that Birla would ensure carrying out proceedings of Lok Sabha effectively. His leadership quality would help him in discharging the responsibility as Speaker of Lok Sabha, he noted. As it is, Birla was elected Lok Sabha Speaker by voice vote in the House. Opposition had fielded senior Congress MP K Suresh as its candidate for the post of Speaker but did not press for division of votes after Prime Minister Narendra Modi moved a resolution seeking Birla's appointment as Speaker...////...
