Patna, Oct 24 (Reporter) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar directed the authorities to complete the construction of Panchayat government buildings in all panchayats of the state by June 2025.
While inaugurating and laying foundation stones of various projects belonging to Panchayati Raj department through remote control here on Thursday, Kumar directed to properly maintain the panchayat buildings. He said that 2615 Panchayat buildings and state Panchayat Resource Centre Sonpur would be constructed at an expenditure of Rs 7160 crore, the foundation of which was laid during the day.
In addition to this 13 district Panchayat resource centres, 65 panchayat buildings, e-gram kachhari Court management system, and Zila Parishad portal were also inaugurated.
The Chief Minister said since the beginning he has been emphasising for upgradation of the Panchayat system and out of 6858 Panchayat buildings 8053 were approved and 1548 have been completed. The process for the rest was underway.
The Chief Minister also elaborated various schemes including the installation of solar street lights taken up under 7 resolves part 2. He said that the installation of solar street lights in the rural areas was taken up in 2021 under this scheme. On average 10 solar street lights would be installed in every ward.
