Nitish inaugurates Riga sugar mill

Patna, Dec 26 (Reporter) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inaugurated the Riga sugar mill by initiating the crushing of sugarcane for the 2024-25 season. During the third day of his ongoing Pragati Yatra Kumar reached Sitamarhi where he inaugurated the mill and inspected its campus. The reopening of the mill which was closed for the past four years is expected to significantly boost the region’s economy. The Riga Sugar Mill, one of the most historic sugar mills in the country, was recently acquired by Karnataka-based Nirani Sugars Limited. Kumar also inaugurated and laid the foundation stones of various development projects worth Rs 236.60 crore for Sitamarhi district. The schemes worth over Rs 141.12 crore were inaugurated while the foundation stones were laid for the schemes worth over Rs 95 .47 crore...////...
