Nitish inspects under construction National Dolphin Research Centre in Patna

Patna, Jan 9 (Reporter) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday inspected the under construction National Dolphin Research Centre on the bank of river Ganga in Patna. Kumar who has been taking keen interest since long in getting approval from the Central government for construction of National Dolphin Research Centre (NDRC), visited the construction site. He personally enquired in detail from the officials about all aspects of the NDRC and issued directive to them to ensure its completion within stipulated time frame. Since becoming Chief Minister of Bihar in 2005, Kumar has been emphasising on the need for setting up NDRC in Patna, saying it is most appropriate place of such institution par excellence.All assistance has been provided by state government for establishing NDRC in Patna. NDRC would be first institution of its kind in the country and close to the river Ganga in Patna. The concept behind this facility is to provide all required facilities under one roof for quality reasearch on Dolphin's behaviour in the river, including their food habits and their way to adapt changing environment. Fishermen would also be imparted training on how to save Dolphins while fishing. A Dolphin rescue Centre close to research centre would also come up. Bihar Finance Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary and senior officials accompanied Chief Minister Kumar during his inspection of under construction NDRC. Secretary of Forest and Climate Change Department Vandana Praiyasi, Secretary of Building Construction Department Kumar Ravi, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Deepak Kumar and Secretary to Chief Minister Anupam Kumar were also present on the occasion...////...
