Nitish pays tributes to Jaiprakash Narayan

Patna Oct 8 (Reporter) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday paid rich tributes to veteran socialist leader Jaiprakash Narayan on his death anniversary. Kumar along with Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha, Speaker of Bihar Assembly Nand Kishore Yadav, Rural Works Department Minister Ashok Chaudhary, and other important dignitaries, paid tributes to Jaiprakash Narayan near Gandhi Maidan where his idol was installed. His contribution during the freedom struggle and also for strengthening democracy was recalled on the occasion. A cultural programme was presented by artists of the Information and Public Relations Department (IPRD) of the Bihar government on the occasion. On a call given by Jaiprakash Narayan, a students' movement was launched in the country which took the shape of a total revolution, aiming to change the system and protest against the dictatorial regime of the then Congress government at the Centre during the mid-seventies...////...
