Chennai, Aug 22 (Reporter) Amid widespread speculations there would be reshuffle of the State
Cabinet, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin on Thursday said he has no information about
it.
Talking to reporters after opening an upgraded control room at the Revenue and Disaster Management centre in the city, he said he has not received any information about it.
Speculations were rife in the media that Mr Stalin would effect a major reshuffle of his Cabinet
ahead of his visit to the United States on August 27 to attract investments to the State.
When asked about the reports, Mr Stalin said "I have not received any information (about the
Cabinet reshuffle)".
The reports, quoting DMK insiders said, a massive reshuffle of the Cabinet was likely this
evening. It also said at least three Ministers will be shown the door and fresh faces from
Salem and Tiruvallur districts would be inducted into the Council of Ministers.
The reports also said there could be reshuffle of portfolios of some of the Ministers, besides
elevation of Sports and Youth Welfare Minister and Mr Stalin's son Udhayanidhi Stalin, who
is also the DMK Youth Wing Secretary, as the Deputy Chief Minister.
The speculations gained more credence when newly appointed Chief Secretary N Muruganandam met Governor R N Ravi at Raj Bhavan this evening.
It may be recalled that reacting to widespread demands from the party functionaries and cadres,
and also from his own Cabinet colleagues favouring Mr Udhayanidhi's elevation as the Deputy
Chief Minister, Mr Stalin said "it (the demand) has strengthened, but not ripened"...////...
