Bengaluru, May 22 (Reporter) Karnataka Home Minister Dr G Parameshwara claimed on Wednesday that there has been no response from the Central government regarding the state's request to cancel the diplomatic passport of Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna. Prajwal is facing serious charges of sexual abuse against multiple women, and an arrest warrant has been issued by a court. The state government’s Special Investigation Team (SIT), which is probing the allegations, had written to the Ministry of External Affairs to revoke Prajwal's diplomatic passport. "The Centre has not responded yet," Dr Parameshwara said. "We are urging the Central government to assist us within the framework of the law. Canceling his passport after an arrest warrant is issued is their duty." Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had previously written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking cancellation of Prajwal's passport, but no response has been received. Dr Parameshwara emphasised that the Central government supports the legal process. "It's not just about Prajwal Revanna; it's about upholding the law," he stated. Prajwal, grandson of former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda, reportedly left on April 27, just a day after elections in Hassan. He remains at large. Following a request by the SIT via the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Interpol has issued a 'Blue Corner Notice' to gather information on Prajwal's whereabouts. On Saturday, a Special Court for Elected Representatives issued an arrest warrant against him, based on an application from the SIT. Meanwhile, JDS leader HD Kumaraswamy has alleged that a leaked audio conversation involving Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar and BJP leader Devaraje Gowda indicates Shivakumar's involvement in circulating explicit videos allegedly involving Prajwal. Dr Parameshwara responded by saying, "Kumaraswamy can speak his mind, but the SIT will conduct its investigation according to the law." The formation of the SIT was a deliberate decision by the government to ensure a thorough investigation. Dr Parameshwara criticised Kumaraswamy for his constant critiques, suggesting that the JDS leader appears to be trying to influence the direction of the investigation...////...
