Shivamogga, Mar 17 (Reporter) BJP's Parliamentary Board Member and senior BJP leader BS Yediyurappa on Sunday stated that he is not responsible for the denial of ticket to KE Kantesh, KS Eshawarppa's son.
He said ticket distribution is decided by the Central Election Committee, indicating that Eshwarappa's perception might be mistaken.
"I am not the one who issues tickets to candidates. The parliamentary board takes a call on candidates. I can only give suggestions and the central leaders take the decision ... I don't know why Kantesh was denied a ticket for the Haveri seat," he told reporters here.
Addressing potential concerns from Eshwarappa, he stated that although Eshwarappa might be upset, he will attend Prime Minister Narendra Modi's rally.
Acknowledging Eshwarappa's significant role in party building, Yediyurappa expressed optimism about improving the situation and mentioned efforts by state leaders to communicate with Eshwarappa.
Regarding Modi's rally in Kalaburagi, Yediyurappa emphasised the party's goal is to win all 28 LS constituencies in the state.
He mentioned that victory in 26 seats is confirmed, with potential changes in 1-2 seats.
Yediyurappa expressed confidence in winning the Shivamogga parliamentary constituency, adding that what remains to be seen is the margin of victory...////...
