During the incident, a police constable sustained injuries and was admitted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
According to police reports, the accused has been identified as Bathula Prabhakar (29), a native of Chittoor district. A total of 80 cases are pending against him across the two Telugu states, including 16 cases in various police stations in Telangana.
A recent theft within the jurisdiction of Moinabad police station in Hyderabad led authorities to investigate fingerprints and CCTV footage. The analysis confirmed that the suspect was Bathula Prabhakar, a notorious criminal who had been absconding since 2023.
Prabhakar, known for his methodical thefts, always wore a mask to avoid leaving traces. He allegedly used his stolen wealth to fund a lavish lifestyle.
