Odisha CM announces additional month salary & allowances for Havildars,Sepoys,constables

Bhubaneswar, Dec 17 (Reporter) Havildars, Constables, and Sepoys in Odisha will now receive an additional month's salary at the revised pay rate, Rs.1,000 as a motorcycle allowance, and Rs.10,000 as an allowance for clothing and shoes. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi made this announcement during the 45th Annual Celebration of the Havildar, Constable, and Sepoy Mahasangh in Cuttack on Monday night. Official sources stated that previously, Havildars and Constables were entitled to only Rs.300 as a bicycle allowance and Rs.5,000 as an allowance for clothing and shoes. Majhi also assured that necessary steps would be taken to recruit Class IV employees and that funds would be allocated for constructing a new Mahasangh building in Bhubaneswar. Describing constables and sepoys as the backbone of the police department, he commended their dedication to duty, performed irrespective of harsh weather conditions like heat, rain, cold, or fog. The CM emphasized the state government's commitment to enhancing police infrastructure and human resources to make the police service more effective. Majhi warned that disorder and corruption would not be tolerated, and those involved in such acts would face serious consequences. He reiterated the Odisha Police's mantra, "Service and Safety," and urged Sangh workers and members to carry out their duties with responsibility and sensitivity. The Chief Minister announced that every police station in the state would soon receive motorcycles, with Rs.35 crore allocated in the additional budget for this purpose. Additionally, Rs.299 crore has been allocated for establishing more Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) in the state, and 649 vehicles will be provided to the police force, he said. Director General of Police (DGP) Yogesh Bahadur Khurania stated that the police force cannot achieve strength and prosperity without the active cooperation of constables and sepoys.
