Odisha CM-designate Majhi offers tribute to brave sons of soil

Bhubaneswar, June 12 (Reporter) Odisha Chief Minister-designate Mohan Charan Majhi accompanied by two deputies KV Sing Deo and Pravati Parida on Wednesday went round the capital city here to offer floral tributes to the brave sons of the soil before taking their oaths of office. Majhi and the others garlanded the statues of Fakir Mohan Senapati at Vani Vihar Square, Dharanidhar Bhuyan at Mayfair Square, Gangadhar Meher at Kalinga Hospital Square and Birsa Munda at Maitri Vihar and offered tributes. All three were givenwa rm welcome by the Santhali tribal women at Maitri Vihar by washing their feet. Majhi interacted with the people gathered at the venue and enquired about their wellbeing. He later went to Naveen Nivas and invited Biju Janata Dal president and former Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to attend the swearing in ceremony. Majhi told the media he requested Patnaik to bless the new BJP government in the state and the latter assured to attend the swearing in ceremony. Earlier a five-member BJP delegation led by Odisha unit president Manmohan Samal on Tuesday also visited Naveen Nivas to invite Patnaik. A delegation of the BJP led by Pravati Parida and Prithviraj Harichandan, Ashrit Pattanayak and Irasis Acharya, all elected MLAs, also visited the Sri Jagannath temple in Puri on Tuesday to invite Lord Jagannath to grace the swearing in ceremony and bless the new cabinet...////...
