Odisha CM flags off four bus services for Maha Kumbh

Bhubaneswar, Jan 12 (Reporter) Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Sunday flagged off four modern bus services in virtual mode for devotees from 4 places in Odisha on the occasion of Mahakumbh Mela. These 4 modern premium buses of Odisha State Transport Corporation will depart from Puri, Sambalpur, Bhawanipatna, and Berhampur and travel to Ayodhya via Varanasi and Prayagraj. In a program organized at Lok Seva Bhawan, Chief Minister flagged off the bus service in virtual mode by hoisting the flag. On this occasion, the Chief Minister congratulated the devotees and hoped that they would attain immense merit in this pilgrimage. Majhi said in the first phase, 4 buses are being operated and more buses will be arranged if required. The Chief Minister said that for the first time, a long journey of more than 2500 km has been started. The Chief Minister said Mahakumbh Mela is being held in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh this year from Pausha Purnima to Mahashivaratri (January 13 to February 26). Thousands of devotees from Odisha are also going to Prayagraj. This bus facility has been made for the benefit of the devotees. On the first day, 200 devotees from Odisha started their journey for the Mahakumbh Mela. The Chief Minister said a 50 percent discount has been made on the ticket price for women passengers. The Chief Minister said that these buses have 'Live Vehicle Tracking', a panic button and a driver assistance system for the safety of the passengers. Along with this, a 24-hour help desk has also been opened for the convenience of the Mahakumbh Mela passengers. Commerce and Transport Minister Bibhuti Bhushan Jena, who was present in Berhampur, congratulated the passengers and said that the state government is conducting a month-long road safety program for more safety in the road transport sector. He advised everyone to follow the traffic rules while driving and stay safe.
