Bhubaneswar, Dec 24 (Reporter) Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Tuesday invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi to attend the coming 'Pravasi Bharatiya Divas' and 'Utkarsh Odisha' programs in Bhubaneswar.
Majhi met the Prime Minister in New Delhi and extended the invitation. Sharing the news on his X handle, Majhi said, "These events will be even grander in the presence of the Prime Minister along with the NRIs."
The 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) Convention is scheduled to be held from January 8–10, 2025, in Bhubaneswar. The theme for the 2025 convention is "Diaspora's Contribution to a Viksit Bharat."
PBD is a flagship event of the Indian government held every two years. It aims to strengthen ties between the Indian diaspora and the Government of India while reconnecting them with their cultural roots. The event also serves to honor the achievements of people of Indian origin and encourages them to share their knowledge and expertise with India.
The 'Utkarsh Odisha – Make in Odisha Conclave 2025' is the premier investment forum in Eastern India, aimed at driving economic growth and elevating Odisha as a globally competitive investment destination.
The conclave seeks to attract both domestic and international investments across diverse sectors, positioning Odisha as the industrial powerhouse of Eastern India.
The event, to be held in Bhubaneswar on January 28 and 29, will serve as a dynamic platform to showcase Odisha’s industrial strengths, strategic advantages, and vast growth opportunities for global investors.
