Bhubaneswar, Dec 24 (Reporter) The Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar on Tuesday convicted former Managing Director of Orissa Rural Housing Development Corporation (ORHDC), Vinod Kumar and two others and sentenced them to undergo three years Rigorous Imprisonment (RI) in a corruption case. Vinod Kumar, Purna Chandra Das, Ex-Executive Director, Technical, ORHDC, Bhubaneswar and Subash Chandra Panda, State Coordinator, AWARE (NGO), were chargesheeted by Odisha Vigilance in a corruption case under section 13(2) r/w 13(1)(d) PC Act, 1988/420/120-B IPC. The court also imposed a fine of Rs.25,000 each on the three convicts. Vinod Kumar, and Purna Chandra Das, had shown undue official favour to Subash Chandra Panda in the matter of illegal sanction and disbursement of loan on the basis of fabricated documents without security. Sources said this is the 10th conviction involving corruption in ORHDC by Vinod Kumar, and other officials by hatching criminal conspiracy with private persons...////...
