Odisha: Four labourers asleep under the truck crushed to death

Bhubaneswar, Jan 18 (Reporter) In a tragic incident, four labourers died when a borewell truck crushed them to death while they were asleep under the truck. Sources said, five labourers, all from Madhya Pradesh, were engaged in rigging a borewell in Birjam village under Melchhamunda police station limit in Odisha’s Bargarh district when the mishap took place in the wee hours of Thursday. Four labourers died on the spot and one critically injured in the incident has been shifted to a nearby hospital. The labourers were sleeping under the truck when the driver unknowingly tried to start the vehicle and put the reverse gear crushing all of them under the wheel of the vehicle. Police said the contractor has been detained for interrogation and the identity of the deceased labourers is being ascertained...////...
