Bhubaneswar, July 30 (Reporter) The Odisha government on Tuesday suspended DIG of Fire Services & Home Guards, Pandit Rajesh Uttamrao, and initiated disciplinary proceedings against him.
The government suspended the senior IPS officer after Chief Minister Mohan Charan, on his return from Delhi on Monday night, directed the concerned authority to take immediate action against Uttamrao for his misconduct and indiscipline.
According to an order issued by the Home Department, the Director General of Police had submitted a confidential report against the DIG Fire Services on an incident that occurred under the jurisdiction of the capital police station on July 27 last.
The order said “…A disciplinary proceeding against Pandit Rajesh Uttamrao, IPS, is contemplated on the grounds of grave misconduct as a Member of the Indian Police Service.
The Government of Odisha, it further said, in exercise of powers conferred by sub-rule (1) of Rule 3 of the All India Services (Discipline and Appeal) Rules, 1969, placed Pandit Rajesh Uttamrao, IPS, under suspension with immediate effect.
During the period of suspension, the headquarters of the DIG, Rajesh Uttamrao, will be at the State Police Headquarters in Cuttack, and he shall not leave the said headquarters without obtaining permission from the DG of Police...////...
