Bhubaneswar, Mar 6 (Reporter) Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday launched the Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY) Nabin Card for the families residing mostly in rural areas which will be implemented in the state from May 1 next.
Chief Minister Office (CMO) sources said all the rural families barring the regular government employees, pension holders and income taxpayers who have been deprived of BSKY card will be eligible for BSKY Nabin Card.
Like the BSKY card holders, the beneficiaries under the BSKY Nabin Card will also get the cashless benefit of Rs.5 lakh per annum per family but in case of female member in the family the amount would be Rs.10lakh
Under the BSKY scheme, nearly 1.3 lakh beneficiaries have benefited every month from 816 empanelled private hospitals for which the state government is spending nearly Rs.270 crore.
Official sources said the BSKY Nabin Card holders will also be entitled to get the cashless treatment for critical diseases in all empanelled hospitals both within Odisha and also outside the state.
At present more than one crore families in Odisha are covered for cashless medical benefits under BSKY.
Launching the card, the Chief Minister said the newly introduced BSKY Nabin Card will now help more families, particularly those staying in the rural areas in the state...////...
