Bhubaneswar, Jan 25 (Reporter) A special board comprising officers from the Coast Guard and Odisha Police will be formed to thoroughly inspect the entire coastal area, Odisha Police DGP Yogesh Bahadur Khurania announced.
The decision to establish the board was taken during a meeting held on Saturday between DGP Khurania and Coast Guard Commander, Eastern Seaboard, Danny Mitchell.
The officers from both departments will jointly inspect the coastal areas, and based on their findings, Marine Police Stations will be equipped with boats, Khurania told the media.
The meeting included detailed discussions on measures for coastal security and natural disaster management. It emphasized the importance of close coordination between the two departments to enhance coastal security in the future.
Additionally, plans were discussed to intensify patrolling in the coastal regions, monitor activities from the air, and further strengthen the entire coastal control system as per directives.
The meeting also explored ways for the Coast Guard to provide comprehensive support to the Odisha Police.
DGP Khurania stated that retired personnel from the Coast Guard and the Indian Navy would be appointed to Marine Police Stations in the near future.
Responding to media queries, DGP Khurania said that efforts would always be made to maintain and strengthen the long-standing relationship between the Odisha Police and the Coast Guard...////...
