Odisha: Six killed, five critically injured as van rams into truck trailer in Sundergarh

Bhubaneswar, Nov 2 (Reporter) Six people were killed and five others critically injured when the Tata Majic Van in which they were travelling rammed into a stationary truck trailer on the MCL-Taporia road near Gaikanapalli village under Hemagiri Police station in Sundergarha district in the wee hours of Saturday. Police sources said, all the six died on the spot and the injured have been admitted to Hemagiri Hospital. The identity of the deceased has not yet been ascertained. The sources said as many as ten people from Kandagoda and Samarpinda villages were returning home in the van after attending a Kirtan ceremony when the accident occurred. Sources said the accident might have occurred due to low visibility due to fog and the driver of the van could not see the trailer parking on the side of the road. Following the incident, the irate local people blocked the road demanding compensation to the kin of the deceased. Police reached the spot and enquired about the accident...////...
