Bhubaneswar, Feb 5 (Reporter) The Odisha Vigilance sleuths have unearthed huge property including a cash of Rs.1.5 crore during the raids on the allegation of possession of Disproportionate Assets (DA) by Deputy Director and PD (Project Director), Watershed, Malkangiri Santanu Mohapatra. Odisha vigilance sources said simultaneous house searches are being conducted by Odisha Vigilance led by 2 Addl. SPs, 4 DSPs,10 Inspectors, 6 ASIs, and other supporting staff on the strength of search warrants issued by Special Judge, Vigilance, Jeypore at seven locations in Malkangiri, Cuttack and Bhubaneswar. Santanu Kumar Mohapatra after completing M.Sc in Agriculture Economics, entered into Government service as Junior Soil Conservation Officer in 1995 and posted in the Office of Asst Soil Conservation Officer, Khordha and continued till the year 2000. From December, 2000 to December 2009, he was acting as Asst. Seeds Production Officer at Mathili, Malkangiri on deputation. In 2009, he was transferred and posted as Asst. Seeds Production Officer under Seeds Production Officer, Jeypore,and continued there till 2016. He was promoted to the rank of Asst. Soil Conservation Officer in 2016 and posted under Project Director, Watershed, Ganjam at Berhampur. Mohapatra was again promoted to the rank of Asst. Director Soil Conservation and posted as PD Watershed Parlakhemundi, in Gajapati district. He was transferred and posted as Deputy Director Soil Conservation Cum Project Director, Watershed, Malkangir in. Malkangiri district in 2021 and continuing as such. During the search operation, the vigilance officials have found a residential Triple storeyed building located at Jeypore. The Office Chamber Mohapatra at Malkangiri, his paternal house at Nuapada, Balisahi, Cuttack and houses of his relative located at Bhimatangi, Housing Board Colony, Bhubaneswar were also searched and are in progress...////...
