Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 8 (Reporter) Kerala LSGD Minister MB Rajesh on Friday announced 'One Day Work From Home' for Kudumbashree staff during their menstruation. The Minister announced this while inaugurating the Internationl Women's Day celebrations of Kudumbashree (a poverty eradication and women empowerment programme implemented by the Kerala Government) at Mount Carmel Convention Centre, Vazhuthacaud. The Minister said Kudumbashree, which was started as a poverty eradication mission, has now transformed as an important means of empowerment during these years. Kudumbashree, playing an unparalleled role in the social, financial, and political empowerment of women in Kerala, has always been keen on ensuring the security of women in the society, he said. Kudumbashree has rendered commendable service in ensuring women's safety and gender equality in the social sphere of Kerala. The Minister also launched the 'Gender Point Person' Concept of Kudumbashree. The campaign theme for this year's Women's Day is 'Inspire Inclusion.' Nowadays exclusion, marginalization, and discrimination are ongoing in the name of gender, religion, caste, and language nationally and internationally. And this theme is relevant in the current social scenario, he added. Dr. Sharmila Mary Joseph, Kerala Principal Secretary, Local Self Government Department launched the 'Quick Serve' professional team for various services in urban areas and the logo of 'Quick Serve' . She also distributed the ID cards for the 'Quick Serve' Executives. A Seminar was held on the topic- 'Interventions and challenges related to gender-based violence' by the representatives of various departments.
