One killed, one hurt in cracker godown blast in TN

Chennai, May 20 (Reporter) One worker was killed and another injured in a blast a cracker unit godown at Athipallam village near Viralimalai in Pudukkottai district of Tamil Nadu on Monday afternoon. Police sources said the deceased was identified as Karthik (27). The injured, who sustained serious burns, was admitted to Manapparai Government hospital. The workers were engaged in making crackers at the shop-cum-godown when the tragedy occurred. The godown was owned by one, Velmurugan, who runs a cracker shop in the front side of the building and godown at the rear. Electric short circuit was said to have caused the fire leading to the blast. Viralimalai police have registered a case and are investigating...////...
