Patna, Dec 21 (Reporter) BJP MP and former State President Sanjay Jaiswal termed One Nation One election as a major transformative decision saying that earlier the elections were held only one time in the country. Outlining the benefits of the One Nation One Election, Jaiswal told newspersons here on Saturday that it would not only save the fund but would also save time and the development would not be obstructed. He said that with the implementation of the One Nation one election the development activities would continue for 4 and a half years in the country. The BJP leader blamed the traditions of conducting elections once in the country discontinued due to the ego of late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi who got President's rule imposed in several States. He said that the NDA government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has initiated serious efforts for the implementation of a one Nation one election in the country. Jaiswal said that a committee was constituted under the Chairmanship of the former President for the One Nation One election and based on its report the Narendra Modi cabinet passed it. Moving the 129th amendment in the constitution during the winter season of the Lok Sabha was a major event, he said adding that it is a decision that would bring transformation in the country. He said that the Law Commission was also in favour of it. Blaming opposition for creating confusion on the matter Jaiswal said this has been sent to the Joint Parliamentary Committee.
