Mumbai, Feb 21 (Reporter) Leader of Opposition in Maharashtra Assembly, Vijay Wadettiwar, on Wednesday severely criticised the BJP-led central government over ban on onion export, saying that the ban will cause huge losses to onion farmers and accused the government of being anti-farmer. In a press statement, he said that the central government has banned export of onion till March 31 and has not announced any change in it. On BJP ministers and leaders in the state making a desperate attempt to take credit for themselves by celebrating the lifting of export ban on onions imposed by their own government, he alleged that this was BJP's attempt to mislead onion farmers. Making it clear that the export ban has not been lifted, the Opposition leader asserted that at present, there was no change in decision of the central government. "Now, BJP should stop pretending that its own party took wrong decisions and then changed that decisions and took revolutionary decisions for farmers," he said. The government should take decisions in the interests of farmers and people of the state rather than doing doing politics ahead of elections, Wadettiwar added and cautioned that otherwise, people will not forgive them...////...
