Patna, Dec 31 (Reporter) Opposition MLAs on Tuesday took out a protest march voicing their concern over the lathicharge on BPSC aspirants on Sunday and also supported their demand for re-conducting preliminary test of 70th combined competitive examination of Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC).
Congress and CPI MLAs took out protest march and moved towards Raj Bhawan but they were prevented by police near saptamurthy memorial in Patna.
When police did not allow them to move ahead towards Raj Bhawan , there was minor scuffle between police and legislators and the latter sat on road pressing for permission to move further.
The district administration gave permission to a delegation of legislators to go to Raj Bhawan and give their memorandum. The delegation of MLAs reached Raj Bhawan and met principal secretary to governor and submitted a memorandum to him.
At present, Bihar Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar has been shifted to Kerala while newly appointed Governor Aarif Mohammad Khan is scheduled to take oath on January 2.
Leader of Congress legislative party in Assembly Shakeel Ahmad Khan told media persons that preliminary test conducted by BPSC for 70th combined competitive examination should be cancelled and a fresh test should be conducted as it was marred by paper leak and other irregularities. He justified the demands of agitating BPSC aspirants.
Khan condemned the lathicharge on BPSC aspirants on Sunday evening, saying voice of those raising their demands were being suppressed. Opposition MLAs were always prepared to give their voice for voiceless, he added...////...
