Itanagar, Oct 27 (Reporter) Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt General (Retd) KT Parnaik has urged upon the people of the state to participate in the developmental and transformation progress of Arunachal Pradesh with a ‘Nation First’ spirit. While pointing out many state and centrally sponsored welfare schemes, projects, and programs that are in various phases of implementation in different parts of the state, the governor said our Gaon Burahs, Panchayat members, and community leaders must realise their responsibilities and monitor these works. “Such steps of the conscientious citizens will have a huge impact and ensure proper and timely execution of the welfare measures,” he said. Further emphasising the need to strengthen health, education, infrastructure, and tourism sectors, the governor urged the people to contribute towards the development of the state and realise Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Viksit Bharat’ (by 2047). The Governor, who was on a day’s visit to Dibang Valley and Lower Dibang Valley districts on Saturday, made these calls while addressing public meetings at Anini and Roing, the district headquarters of Dibang Valley and Lower Dibang Valley. He also reviewed the developmental works at Roing, an official release said on Sunday. Deeply impressed by the initiatives taken by the tribal communities for cultural preservation, Parnaik said our culture and traditions should be maintained and passed on to future generations. He also stressed preserving the mother tongue and scripts and said that every person in the community must be proud of their age-old cultural heritage and take pride in it. “Arunachal Pradesh continues to maintain its cultural heritage and traditions. It is one of the most culturally diverse states. At the same time, Arunachal Pradesh is a shining example of unity in diversity,” he said. He said that the state has huge potential in the tourism sector and advised concerned officials to address all aspects of tourism at the district level, including the skilling of youth, creating viable circuits, preserving cultural assets, and creating infrastructure for promoting tourism in the district. At Anini, local MLA Mopi Mihu briefed the Governor about the development projects in Dibang Valley, while the Lower Dibang Valley district MLAs Mutchu Mithi and Puinnyo Apum, along with Govt officials, Gaon Burahs, and PRI leaders, participated in the meeting at Roing. During his first visit to Lower Dibang Valley, the governor reviewed the progress of various developmental programs and schemes implemented both by the Central and State Govt departments. Deputy Commissioner Soumya Saurabh gave a very analytic presentation of her district. The governor shared his concern about the institutionalisation of subletting infrastructure projects, which, he said, is resulting in delays in the implementation of road projects and in maintaining quality. He urged officials to step out of their offices, interact with local communities, inspect ongoing projects firsthand, and utilise technology to monitor the implementation of government schemes. The governor also suggested setting up of model villages with necessary amenities by the hydropower project authorities while addressing the compensation issues. He said that such steps will benefit the people and the state in terms of cleanliness, self-sustenance, and a holistic approach to futuristic plans. He also expressed his concern regarding drug addictions among people and suggested exploring preventive measures as well as cures. Earlier, the DC and the heads of departments briefed the Governor on the district’s developmental progress, discussing both departmental initiatives and the challenges. They also raised issues concerning the Vibrant Village Program, education, health, and banking, and drug menace in the district...////...
