Mumbai, Dec 26 (Reporter) Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee President Nana Patole has expressed grief over the demise of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. ' He was an honest, sensitive politician and a successful Prime Minister. He was a great economist and scholar, ' he added. Expressing deep sorrow over the death of Dr Manmohan Singh, Patole said, ' He laid the foundation of India's strong economy during his long administrative and political career. As the finance minister of the country, he boosted the economy in the country through economic liberalization. ' ' In the year 2004, he was selected as the Prime Minister of the country. Justifying the trust reposed by Sonia Gandhi, he helped the country gain recognition as an economic power on the world stage. ' During his tenure as Prime Minister, he passed laws like Right to Information Act, Food Security Act, Right to Education Act, MGNREGA, and made it law for common officials to ensure that the rights given by the Constitution to the people at the bottom of the line are given to them, Patole stated.
