Mumbai, July 10 (Reporter) The Maharashtra government plans to up-grade the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to curb milk adulteration, Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Ajit Pawar said in the legislative Assembly on Wednesday.
The FDA will be provided latest technology, machinery and adequate manpower to prevent milk adulteration, he said, replying to a question.
He said the state government had enacted a law to give death penalty to the culprits of milk adulteration but the Act is awaiting the President's assent.
