Patna, Jan 02 (Reporter) Founder of " Jan Suraaj " Prashant Kishor on Thursday began fast unto death in support of demands of BPSC aspirants including cancellation of the preliminary test earlier held on December 13 and conducting it afresh.
Prashant Kishor popularly known as PK, said that he had begun his fast unto death at Gandhi Maidan in Patna as despite agitation going on for the last few days, Nitish Kumar government did not take any decision for cancellation of the preliminary test and re-conducting it afresh. Unless BPSC aspirants did not get justice he would continue his fast unto death dharna , he declared.
" Government should issue a white paper on investigation conducted and action taken against those involved in paper leaks in competitive examinations during the last 10 years", Kishor said adding that action should also be taken against the administrative officials responsible for lathi-charge on BPSC students near Gandhi Maidan in Patna on Sunday evening.
In 2015, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had promised to give unemployment allowance to youths aged from 18 to 35 years but not a single penny had been given to the unemployed so far, he pointed out and added that the promise was made under seven resolves of government.
"Jan Suraaj " founder said that a domicile policy giving two-thirds reservation in all government jobs for natives of Bihar should be implemented so that local youths could get justice. Without such policy, local youths were being deprived of their rights to get government jobs and they had been migrating to other states in search of their livelihood, he lamented.
More than 150 BPSC aspirants and other leaders of "Jan Suraaj " were sitting on dharna along with Prashant Kishor.
Meanwhile, the district administration has declared the fast-unto-death agitation of Prashant Kishor as illegal, saying Gandhi Maidan was not the place to do such activities and protests. Patna High Court had given a ruling seven years back that only designated places in Gardanibagh locality could be used as dharnas and protests
District administration clarified that Prashant Kishor would be served notice to shift dharna to designated place in Gardanibagh locality otherwise legal action would be taken against him and others. No person violating the law would be spared, the administration warned...////...
