PK promises old age monthly pension of Rs 2000 in Bihar

Patna, Oct 30 (Reporter) "Jan Suraaj" Founder Prashant Kishor on Wednesday promised to provide monthly pension of Rs 2,000 for old persons above the age of 60 years, if his party was voted to power in the 2025 assembly election in Bihar. Kishor popularly known as PK while addressing a series of public meetings in Ramgarh, seeking support for his party candidate Sushil Singh Kushwaha for the November 13 assembly byelection, said that old age monthly pension of Rs 2000 would be provided to persons above the age of 60 years, if his party was voted to power in 2025 Bihar assembly election. At present, Nitish Kumar government was giving meagre amount of Rs 400 per month as old age pension, which was too low when prices of essential commodities had increased so much, he pointed out. "Youths of Bihar are forced to migrate to other states of the country in search of their livelihood where they are often insulted and humiliated ", PK said adding that those coming to their homes next year during Chhath festival would not be required to go out again for earning their livelihood if his party was voted to power. To alleviate poverty, education was an important tool and if new generation got quality education, they would have more efficiency to earn, keeping the poverty away, he added. "Poor families would be given financial assistance by the state government for education of their wards in private schools if 'Jan Suraaj' was voted to power next year in Bihar", Kishor said adding that Nitish Kumar government had not paid attention to improve the quality of education in Bihar. He exhorted the people to extend their support to his party candidate Kushwaha and ensure defeat of NDA candidates. "Every vote to BJP will strengthen the hands of Chief Minister Kumar who would again initiate land survey presently suspended due to protest by his party ", he said, adding that land survey would create lots of problems for people of the state.
