Kannur, Mar 11 (Reporter) Senior Congress leader and former state leader of the opposition Ramesh Chennithala on Monday dubbed Prime Minister Narendra Modi's guarantees as "just a scam" and said they were "just a ploy" to garner votes in favour of the BJP-led NDA to remain in government. Chennithala was speaking while inaugurating the United Democratic Front (UDF) convention at Kannur Lok Sabha constituency. He also alleged that the NDA government is being used to "inflame" communalism in the country. Chennithala also alleged: "When Modi came to power, many guarantees were given to the people; where did all those guarantees go, and now he has come up with a new guarantee." The earlier guarantee of more employment opportunities to the youth and bringing out the black money stashed in Swiss banks and giving it to women in India, and others like more AIMS will be set up, had been lost in the waters. Ramesh also criticised the CPI-M-led Left Democratic Front (LDF) and added that the people of Kerala should give a warning to the Pinarayi Vijayan-led government in the Lok Sabha elections, as it has only brought misery to the people so far. The target of the UDF is to win all 20 seats in Kerala. He said the party workers should work together "to achieve the 20:20 target". KPCC president K Sudhakaran, MP, read a note. After the reports of CAA implemented by the NDA government, Sudhakaran said that "if the INDIA Front comes to power, the Citizenship Amendment Act will be thrown into the Arabian Sea".
